About Us<\/h4>
The Moscow Rural Fire District serves approximately 128 square miles across Latah County, Idaho, including the City of Viola. Commonly referred to as \u201cMoscow Rural,\u201d the district provides fire protection and emergency response services to a largely rural population, working in close coordination with regional partners to ensure comprehensive coverage.\n\n<\/div><\/div><\/div>\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t

Operations are based out of two strategically located stations. The district\u2019s primary facility is co-located with Moscow Volunteer Fire Department (MVFD) Station 2 at 1300 White Avenue. This five-bay station serves as headquarters and houses seven apparatus, with brush trucks positioned for rapid deployment following the first-out engine. In addition, Moscow Rural Fire District jointly operates from MVFD Station 3, a six-bay facility that supports both rural and city response, housing a combined total of six apparatus.\n\n<\/div><\/div><\/div>\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t

Emergency medical services are provided through MVFD\u2019s Ambulance Company, while specialized rescue services\u2014including extrication and technical rescue\u2014are delivered by MVFD\u2019s Rescue Company. The district operates primarily with on-call personnel and does not maintain full-time staffing at its stations, except during periods of increased demand such as severe weather events.
